Biography

Kenneth C. Steel, III, known to his clients and friends as Casey, has been practicing law in Jacksonville for over 25 years, concentrating in the areas of personal injury and wrongful death litigation, criminal defense, insurance claims, and disputes, probate and estate matters, trademark and copyright matters, and business litigation. A seasoned and experienced litigator, Casey has tried civil cases as both plaintiff's and defense counsel in state and federal courts, and has both prosecuted and defended those accused of crimes. As a former state attorney and former insurance company attorney, Casey understands and knows how to best deal with prosecutors and insurance companies to zealously represent his clients in criminal, personal injury, and insurance claim matters. Casey is also experienced in commercial matters, having served as in-house counsel for large corporations, and has represented both small and large companies in the handling of business disputes.  Casey handles cases throughout North and Central Florida, as well as Southern Georgia. and is admitted to both the Florida and Georgia Bars, as well as all Federal Courts in Florida and the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

In addition to serving his clients, Casey is active in service to the Jacksonville community. He serves on the Board of Directors of Lutheran Social Services, and also serves on the Board of Directors of Community Nutcracker Jacksonville, Inc., where he is General Counsel, and has also danced in this production for 7 years. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, where he has served as President of the Church Council, as Treasurer for the Trinity Lutheran Church Permanent Endowment Fund, and as a member of mission trips to Honduras. He is a certified support group facilitator by a national mental health organization and is active in mental health and substance abuse advocacy efforts.  He is also a member of the Florida Yacht Club and has served on several committees there. In his spare time, Casey enjoys spending time with his family and friends, playing the guitar and songwriting, and playing tennis.
